Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger told reporters on Tuesday that he cracked right thumb during Sunday's win over the Bengals.
"I'm re-fractured it. I don't quite remember how it happened, "he said. Roethlisberger broke the thumb of the same in 2005.
Pittsburgh has a bye in week 11. Roethlisberger said he would be able to play this week if the Steelers had a game.
"We will put together a splint, I will have a glove for the rest of the year. It will be painful but it takes a lot to keep me out, "he said, according to the team's official website.
"Fortunately we had a bye week," said Roethlisberger. "I don't have to throw it right now. This would be a good time to rest. Great things are just getting used to throw the splint on it again with the gloves, which I have done before. "
